An interesting phenomenon of the furniture of that period is their frequent domestic improvements. Such are these unusual hue gradients on wood – probably the result of several re-toning by home craftsmen since the manufacturing of the armchairs in the early 70s. This is what catches the eye at the first glance. All we had to do was to fix the existing condition with a fresh layer of varnish.
The cushions were in a worn-out condition and obviously needed to be renewed. The result is the white upholstery with thin lines of a pattern – this is a hand redrawn ornament of the furniture fabric, also manufactured in the 70s, then printed on a modern material. The small bright pillows were crafted from that original fabric.
